Lamont Mortuary of Globe, Globe, Arizona Alvin Bernard Cooley, Sr. Alvin Bernard Cooley, age 44, of Peridot, AZ passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. He was born in Phoenix, AZ on March 23, 1970 the son of Charles and Lorraine (Starr) Cooley. He attended Rice School and grade school in California. He went to High School in Pocatello, Idaho. Alvin enjoyed listening to AC/DC, being in the mountains, spending time at the Casino and cutting wood. He helped managed the Apache Wood yard at one time and worked as a mason for a construction company. Alvin is survived by his wife Carol Cooley, his children Edith Starr, Alvin Cooley, Jr., Lorraine Cooley and Calvin Dezen IV, his siblings; Jovita Williams, Manuel Cooley, Sr., Francis Cooley, Myron Moody, Vera “Angel” Cooley Wake will be on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at the Cooley’s residence in Peridot, AZ. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at San Carlos Miracle Church in San Carlos, AZ. Interment will be at Upper Peridot Cemetery in Peridot, AZ. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Tuesday, November 18, 2014 Alvin Bernard Cooley, age 44, of Peridot, Ariz., passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz. He was born in San Carlos, Ariz. on March 23, 1970, the son of Charles Bert and Lorraine (Hinton) Cooley. Alvin attended Rice School and graduated from eighth grade there. He was on placement program through the Mormon Church in California and Idaho. Upon his return to San Carlos, he attended Globe High School and then Kicking Horse in Ronan, Montana, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. In 1993, Alvin rekindled with his childhood love Carol Cooley, whom he had known since the sixth grade. They married and were blessed with three children, Edith, Alvin Jr. and Lorraine Cooley. They were also raising a nephew, Calvin Dazen IV as their own. On June 25, 2014 he was diagnosed with Leukemia – A.L.L. He fought a great fight until the end of his life. Alvin loved his wife and children dearly. Alvin is survived by his wife, Carol Cooley; his children, Edith Starr, Alvin Cooley, Jr., Lorraine Cooley and Calvin Dezen IV; his siblings, Jovita Williams, Manuel Cooley, Sr., Myron Moody, Francis Cooley, and Vera “Angel” Cooley, and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Wake was held on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the Cooley’s residence in Peridot, Ariz. Funeral Services were on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 at 1 p.m. at San Carlos Miracle Church in San Carlos, Ariz. Interment will be at Upper Peridot Cemetery in Peridot, Ariz. Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
