John (Jack) Barger, age 86, of Lake Havasu City, passed away Sunday,
Nov. 9, 2014. Jack was born March 1, 1928, in Aberdeen, S.D. He is the
son of the late John Guy and Olive Marie (Burns) Barger. On Feb. 16,
1950 Jack married Hilde Marie Dutenhoeffer.
Jack received a Bachelors degree of Science in Electrical Engineering
and later worked with Line Material Industries for 27 years. During his
time Jack resided in Aberdeen, S.D., for 23 years; Grand Rapids, Mich.,
for seven years; Greendale, Wis., for 20 years; East Troy, Wis., for 20
years; and Lake Havasu City, for 16 years.
During his free time, Jack enjoyed golfing, working in his shop and
spending time with his family.
Jack was a member of Our Lady of the Lake and The Knights of Columbus in
Lake Havasu City.
Jack is survived by his wife, Hilde Barger of Lake Havasu City; four
sons, Scott Barger of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Guy Barger of Agoura Hills,
Calif., Kurt Barger of Eau Claire, Wis., Tim Barger of Millersville,
Md.; three sisters, Phyliss Swanda of Beaverton, Ore.; Bette Riley of
Billings, Mo., and Carol Herman of Delta, Colo. He is also survived by
four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents John Guy and Olive Marie Barger
and son, Craig W. Barger.
A memorial gathering for Jack will be Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 3 p.m. at
Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel, 21 Riviera Blvd., followed by a service
at 4 p.m.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.
