MIRANDA, Janice Ann

(Maiden Name: Berg)

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Saturday, November 15, 2014 >>> Janice A. Miranda <<< >>> April 8, 1950 — Nov. 8, 2014 <<< My ‘Jannie’ has gone to be with the Lord. Long-time Lake Havasu resident Janice Ann Miranda, age 64, the daughter of Robert A. Berg and Dorothy Jennings, has passed away. Jan was born in Oakland, Calif. and raised in Emeryville, Calif., graduating from Emery High. Shortly thereafter, she married Dannie W. Miranda. One of her proudest moments was getting her cosmetology license so that she could make the world more glamorous, onetime being licensed in seven states. Jan was introduced to the river on a ski trip to Parker with her brother Berk, when she was 16. She returned to Lake Havasu 37 years ago and opened her own salon, Shear Artistry. Along that time, she met Doug Mason and became the love of his life, moving in different directions for a while, till intersecting to spend almost 16 years together. Jan enjoyed her Westerns, cooking shows, and Christmas most of all. The room got brighter when Jan walked into a room. She touched so many people in her lifetime and was deeply adored. Even in death, she enabled her two brothers, who had never met to come together. She was preceded in death by her parents along with close friends April, Marina, Bev and Pat. Besides her `Dougy’, Jan is survived by her brothers, Berk Jones (Sandy and their son TJ) of San Francisco and Otto Bloom (Kay) of San Francisco; stepdaughter Stephanie Mason and grandchildren Chase and Tierra. She loved them and all her many friends so much. Since Jan wished for her remains to be given to medical science, there will be no services at this time. The family will announce a Memorial/Celebration of Life following the holidays. Jan was always giving to others. It seems only fitting for anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Jan Miranda to the HRMC Auxiliary or Hospice of Havasu. I miss her so much.
