Joseph Francis Fagan, age 90, of Plainview, N.Y. passed away Wednesday,
Nov. 12, 2014 at his daughter’s home in Lake Havasu City. Joseph was
born May 13, 1924 in Struthers, Ohio. He is the son of the late Peter
and Rose Marie (Moore) Fagan.
During his lifetime, Joe worked as a custodian engineer for the Board of
Education City of New York and as a stationary engineer for a variety of
hospitals in the New York City region.
Joe was an avid golfer throughout his life and was called “Iron Joe” due
to his ability to hit buckets of golf balls despite the searing Arizona
heat. He was also a huge Islander hockey fan.
He enjoyed collecting CD’s of the music he loved, playing the piano and
guitar. He was well read on a variety of interests.
Joe was on a lifelong quest to improve himself and considered education
to be of primary importance. He was an adoring grandfather and attended
as many of his grandchildren’s sporting events as possible.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Ann McGee (Rick Sisson),
children Alex and Danny Larson of Lake Havasu City; three sons, Michael
J. Fagan (Sonja) of New York City, N.Y., Brian P. Fagan (Renee),
children Travis and Sara of Wyckoff, N.J. and Sean J. Fagan (Eileen),
children Kyle and Trevor of Wantagh, N.Y.; and sister, Winnie Kay
(Archie) of Toronto, Canada. He also is survived by his six
grandchildren.
Joseph is preceded in death by wife, Kitty; and brothers, Pete and
Daniel and a sister Rose.
The family has asked for donations to be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice
or Alzheimer’s Foundation under Joseph’s name.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.
