STECK, Daniel J. (Dan)

Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory, Wickenburg, Arizona Daniel J. Steck August 22, 1938 - November 13, 2014 Daniel J. Steck, age 76, passed away November 13, 2014 in Surprise, Arizona. Dan was born August 22, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to John J. Steck and Louise Anna Becker-Steck. He was raised there and attended schools there. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1962 and in the Reserves until 1967. Following his military service he began working as a manager for Tractor Supply in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dan had worked as a manager in retail as well as a mechanic. He was most at home in the outdoors and loved hunting and camping which were his passion. Dan purchased a motorhome and enjoyed traveling. When he retired he and his wife traveled the country eventually settling in Arizona and purchasing a home in Wickenburg in 2008. Dan was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and served as an Elder in the church. He is survived by his wife Ruby Steck of Wickenburg and step-daughters Michelle and Mary and grandchildren Grace and Mikayla, brother in law and sister in law Richard & Mary Ann Bressler as well as special friends Pastor Robert & Jackie Weidmeyer, Robert & Vivian Reynolds and Ferris & Mary Ann Johnson. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 1:00 P.M., at the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
