Quirino E. Zaragoza, 80
‘Reno’ is what most people called him. He was born in Miami, Ariz. on Feb. 10, 1934 to Quirino and Augustina Zaragoza.
Reno is preceded in heaven by his first wife, Gretel, and his second wife Mary, both his parents and his sister, Dolores Lopez.
Reno was a 16 year veteran who served in the Army, Air Force, and Navy.
He worked as an underground miner in Superior. He also was a fire fighter for the town of Miami, and worked part time as a police officer, and he finally retired from the town of Miami working in the maintenance department.
Reno loved to fish. When the catfish were running you could find him at his favorite place, The Intake. He would spend many days and some nights fishing there. He also loved his hometown of Miami. As he became less mobile he would ask if we could take him to see his town. He enjoyed driving up and down the streets of Miami reminiscing.
He will be missed by all. He is survived by his brothers, Raymond, Richard (Lupe), Eddie (Stella), Alfred (Lisa); and sisters, Doreen (John) Lucero, Veronica (Mike) Gurerro; and his children, Quirino (Margo), Gisela, Lucas (Barbara), Herman and Greg (Erin) Zaragoza; his step children, Belinda Sanchez, Corinne (Bill) Bethel, Mona (Bill) Ward, and Trish (Ray) Dominguez. He also had 29 grandkids and 27 great grandkids.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 beginning at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami.
