Regina (Detlefson) Joyce, 75, passed away Nov. 13, 2014 in Lake Havasu
City after a long battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 19, 1939 in
Bellmore, Long Island, N.Y. to John C. and Anne Regina (Donovan)
Detlefson.
Regina moved to Lake Havasu City in November 2013 to be close to her
brother, Bill. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
Regina graduated from Hamburg High School in Hamburg, N.Y. in 1957 and
went on to graduate in 1961 from Rosary Hill College in Buffalo, N.Y.,
with a degree in microbiology.
Her career choice was cancer research, starting in Buffalo and later
worked in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. area with the Federal Drug
Administration. In retirement, she and her late husband, Ronald Joyce,
moved to Niceville, Fla. They were both very active in Christ Our
Redeemer Catholic Church in Niceville. Regina was a volunteer at the
Twin Cities Hospital for 18 years, working in the Intensive Care Unit.
Regina is survived by her brother, William Detlefson of Lake Havasu
City. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 46
years, Ronald.
Services will be in Niceville, Fla. at a later date.
