The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/28/2014 Nancy Ray Kenney, 67, wife of Dave Kenney, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at her home in Show Low, following a 3-1/2 year battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 20, 1947, to Donald Eugene and Marilyn Lou (Peterson) Anderson in Watsonville, Calif. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to all who knew her. She retired from Marriott’s Mountain Shadows Resort in Scottsdale after 28 years as the accounting office manager. In 2004, they moved to Show Low where she quickly became involved with the VFW Post 9907. She supported the troop boxes for the military and ran the van as a service to the veterans going to the VA hospitals. She was also a member of the Elks, Moose and American Legion. Her hobbies included, bowing, fishing and bingo. A beautiful person, Nancy will be deeply missed by all but by none more than her own family. She is survived by her husband, Dave; daughters Lisa, Bonnie, Tina and Ronnie; son Paul; 15 grandchildren; mother Marilyn Anderson; sister Wendy; and brothers Russell, Wayne, Don and Brian. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald, and brother Kelly. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the VFW Post 9907, 381 N. Central Ave., in Show Low. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the VFW Post 9907 Ladies Auxiliary Group, 381 N. Central Ave., Show Low, AZ 85901.
