Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Friday, November 28, 2014 - Dorothy Mae Bonner Sorensen, 85, of Cedar City, Utah passed away peacefully Nov. 17, 2014 two weeks before her 86th birthday. She was born Dec. 5, 1928, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Leno Sorensen; son, James Harold Sorensen; parents, Harold Roy Bonner and Dora Olga Johnson Bonner; sister, Caroline Jean Bonner Stranger; daughter-in-law, Linda Wysk Sorensen and grandson, Army Staff Sgt. Carl Erik Hammar. She is survived by one son, David L. Sorensen (Paula) of Pasco, Wash.; three daughters, Debra Sorensen (Bill Levy) of Rochester, N.Y., Judy Sorensen Hammar (Ulf) of Grillby, Sweden and Joan Taylor (Russ) of Cedar City, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many extended family members. Her long and joyful journey from Coeur d’Alene to Cedar City included living in nine states and two foreign countries. She made life-long friends everywhere she lived and will be missed by all. Special thanks to BeeHive Homes and Southern Utah Home Health and Hospice workers for their kindness and gentle care. Viewing/visitation hours begin Thursday, Dec. 4, at 3:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, 9th Ward, Cedar City (256 South 900 West). Interment will be the following day, Dec. 5, at noon, at Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nev. Arrangements are under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
