John Allen Klingsheim, age 84, of Lake Havasu City, passed away
Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014. John was born Feb. 7, 1930 in Lime Springs,
Iowa. He is the son of the late Palmer Oliver and Ada Leota (Ruesink)
Klingsheim.
John served in Korea and was cited for meritorious service in Battery B,
96th field artillery, including Korean service medal with three bronze
stars and United Nations Service Medal pendant. In the Vietnam War he
was a civilian adviser to the Army Corps of engineers.
John was a general building contractor and worked in Minnesota,
California, Thailand, and Indonesia.
John is survived by daughter, Karen Suzanne (Ian Leodoro) of Lake Havasu
City; son, Kevin John Klingsheim of Denver, Colo.; sister, Esther Smeton
of Centennial, Colo.; and brother, Alfred Klingsheim of Elk Grove
Village, Ill. He is also survived by two grandsons, Ethan and Ezekiel of
Lake Havasu City and sister-in-law, Rosalie A Klingsheim of Ames, Iowa.
John is predeceased in death by his brother, Paul Klingsheim; brother-
in-law, Lavern Smedsrud; sister, Bertha Smedsrud and nephew, Gary
Klingsheim.
John will be missed by his family (including nephews, nieces, and
cousins) and friends.

Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.
