WILLIAMS, Farrell E.


The Eastern Arizona Courier, Safford, AZ, Monday, October 16, 2006 Farrell E. Williams passed away Oct. 4, 2006, at the age of 79. He was a longtime resident of the Gila Valley, having been born and raised here. After working as a machinist/plant operator with El Paso Natural Gas for 35 years, he returned to live in Safford. Farrell served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings. He was also an avid outdoorsman, marksman and gunsmith. Farrell is survived by Gene, his wife of 58 years; children, Farrell Williams of Tempe, Vicki Anderson of St. George and Roger Williams of Show Low; sisters, Myrna Hawkins of Eden and Carol Visconti of Safford. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Williams of Safford. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Oct. 9, at the Solomon LDS Chapel with interment in the Thatcher Cemetery. Military honors were provided by the Gila Valley Honor Guard. Arrangements were entrusted to McDougal’s Caldwell Chapel .
