Journal Star (Peoria IL) Wednesday, December 3, 2014 Kay (O'Keefe-Edson) Reardon, 83, of Morton, was pronounced dead at 11:55am Sunday, Nov 30, 2014, in rural Hudson, Ill. She was born Jan 6, 1931, in Phoenix, Ariz., to John Joseph and Grace (Serafine) O'Keefe. She married Ronald "Ike" Reardon on July 13, 1949, in Wickenburg, Ariz. He preceded her in death on Nov 8, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Al Wilkins. Surviving are two daughters, Charlynn "Charlie" (Gordon) McClure of Carlock, Ill., and Marlynn "Mike" (Randy) Gunn of Morton; four grandchildren, Deanne McClure-Scales (Chris), Michael McClure, Nick Gunn (Jessica) and T J Gunn (fiancee, Carrie); four great-grandchildren, Allie and Addie McClure and Megan and Brooklynn McClure; two sisters, Charlotte Wilkins and Leslie Lutey; her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Reardon; and many nieces and nephews. Kay had worked at Caterpillar, Inc., Morton Pottery and Libbey's and retired from General Telephone. She then worked full-time as a bus monitor for Morton School District 709, since Sept 1, 1995. She was a member of American Legion Post 318 Auxiliary in Morton and was an active member of Village Courts in Morton, where she swam three times a week. She was of the Catholic faith. Kay enjoyed swimming, bowling, fishing, traveling and reading. She loved playing cards and games with her friends and family. She really loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10:30qam Saturday, Dec 6, 2014, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 N Missouri Ave., Morton. Burial will at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Following the service at the gravesite, a luncheon and fellowship for family and friends will be at Green Acres, 605 Lakeland Road, corner of Lakeland and VFW Roads, in Morton. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 318 Veterans Memorial in Morton.
