The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/09/2014 Ruben Chavez Ulibarri, 77, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at his home in Eagar. He was born Jan. 17, 1937, in St. Johns, the son of Sabino and Nora Chavez Ulibarri. He retired in the year 2000 from Southwest Forest Industries after 28 years of service. Ruben liked camping, gardening and playing board games with his family. He was very family oriented, a very loving father and grandfather. He loved all of his family very, very much, including all of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Patrick Ulibarri; daughters Mary Ellen (Alfred) Otero, Lisa Leyba, Linda (Jack, deceased) Howell, Cindy (Colter, deceased) Childress, Diane Casias and Gloria Ulibarri; daughter-in-law Lucinda Otero (David, deceased) Ulibarri; brothers Menis Ulibarri, Clovis Ulibarri, Edward Ulibarri, Herman Ulibarri, Phillip Ulibarri and Gene Ulibarri; sisters Christine Gallagos, Gina Salazar, Priscilla Lopez and Evelyn Ramirez; 29 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Ruben was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Orona Ulibarri, son David Leon Ulibarri, daughter Ruby Ann Ulibarri, grandchild Danielle Clare Pipkin and infant children, Grace Ulibarri and Ruben Ulibarri Jr. Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Springerville.
