BECHTEL, Vernon E.

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Tuesday, December 09, 2014 Vernon E. Bechtel, age 97, of Prescott, Arizona, formerly of Canton, Ohio and Sebring, Florida, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, in Prescott. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on Aug. 28, 1917, to the late Aaron and Rosa (Teeter) Bechtel. He was retired from Motorola Military Electronics Division. Vernon was a former member of the Canton Friends Church and was currently a member of the First Evangelical Free Church in Prescott, Arizona. He was a WWII Army veteran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Arlene in 2006; a sister, Ruth Miller; and a brother, Leonard Bechtel. Vernon is survived by a daughter, Saundra (Tom) Swinford; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Services were Dec. 4, 2014, in the Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville, Ohio. Arrangements by Stier-Israel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Information provided by survivors.
