DOVI, Thomas (Tom)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/12/2014 Thomas Dovi, 72, resident of Overgaard, died Dec. 4, 2014 of ALS. He was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Trenton, N.J. Tom graduated from Mesa Community College with a bachelor of science degree. He also attended the University of Phoenix and graduated with a business degree. Tom worked for SRP for 30 years as a power consultant. He was in church work all his life. He taught Sunday school for many years and was a youth sponsor in the past. Since moving to Overgaard in 1999 he has been retired, however, serving his church, First Southern Baptist of Overgaard, in various capacities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bessie Dovi, and son Todd Dovi. He leaves behind his wife, Barbara; son James Grenfell; daughters Lynette (Jon) Fisher and Sherry Dovi-Kaye; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at First Southern Baptist of Overgaard, 2727 Church Lane. Internment will be at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery in Tempe.
