MCKINNEY, Marjorie R.

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, December 12, 2014 Marjorie R. McKinney, 92, left this world on Dec. 7, 2014, and found an eternal peace garden with our Lord. Born and raised in Hereford, England, Marjorie joined the Royal Air Force as a WAC, serving with the British forces before the Allies were involved. As such, she met a young "Army Yank," Emery C. "Mac" McKinney, was married on March 10, 1945, in England, and came to America in 1946. Marjorie was a devoted wife and mother to her two children, Geoffrey and Barbara. Her family was her life, along with square-dancing, sewing and splitting 19 retirement years between Illinois and Arizona to be with her grown children and families. Marjorie moved to the Prescott, Arizona, area in 2009 to be near her daughter. She enjoyed her independence, playing cards and traveling with family for as long as possible. Marjorie always wanted to be helpful and never a burden. She will always be our "Queenie." Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Tom) Kult in Arizona, and family in Illinois, England and Norway. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60-plus years, Mac; son Geoffrey; and most of her siblings. Rest in peace, Mum! Services will be Dec. 16, 2014, at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens near Rockford, Illinois. Information provided by survivors.
