Bobby Len Davis, 63, of Chino Valley, Arizona, passed on from mesothelioma asbestos cancer on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014. He was ushered into the arms of Jesus with beautiful hymn-singing from his wife, several friends and Hospice Pastor Kermit and Nurse Kim.
He was born in Rusk, Texas, and joined the Navy after graduation in 1969. He served aboard the same ship for four years, the Henry B. Wilson DDG-7 Destroyer, out of San Diego. He met Becky in November 1970 and they married in February 1971. They lived in San Diego until December 1979, then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they stayed and raised a family until moving to Chino Valley in 2005, then retired and traveled some. He loved it here.
There will be a celebration memorial 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Chino Valley Family Church, 718 S. Highway 89, Chino Valley, with an Honor Guard. His body was donated to advance medicine through Science Care, a whole body donor program. Later there will be a graveside service at the Prescott VA cemetery when his remains come home.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Becky Davis, of Chino Valley; daughter Jennifer Miller of Oklahoma, her husband Robert, and granddaughter Brittanie (15); son Shaun Davis of Phoenix, his wife Maria and two grandkids, Vanessa (16) and Tyler (12); daughter Karyl Davis of Phoenix and granddaughter Charlene (20 months); his mother Armagene Davis of Rusk, Texas; four brothers; one sister; many nieces and nephews; his spouse's family, as they were very close, in-laws Jim and Mim Houts of Pahrump, Nevada; two brothers; one sister; and nieces and nephews all in California.
Bobby was a very giving, fun-loving, generous man with a big heart. He loved helping people and keeping busy. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus and walked with Him daily.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather and son. He was a great provider and encourager.
He will be greatly missed and loved eternally. We will see him again soon.
