Lann married Fagalima Tuitasi, also of Utulei Village, Aug. 5, 1952. He subsequently entered military active duty joining the United States Air Force in 1957 and became a naturalized United States citizen in 1961. Following 20 years of service to our nation, which included assignment to Vietnam during the war, Lann and his family retired and bought a home in Santa Maria, California, in 1977. Lann's 20 years of military service was followed by another 15 years employment with the Raytheon Corporation in Santa Barbara, California. In July 2009, Lann and Fagalima relocated to Prescott Valley, Arizona. Lann Tarrant Sr. was a proud Samoan father who loved his family and loved this country. He particularly took great delight in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The presence of the "little guys" (as he called them) in his life brought him great joy. Whether it took the form of giving the youngest kids the very first pieces of his special barbecue, warm off the grill, during family cook-outs, or giving those young children special gifts whenever they visited, Lann absolutely adored the children of his offspring, and treated them as very special human beings. The legacy of Lann Clifton Tarrant lies in the beautiful children produced by his union with Fagalima. Those children, Leigh, Lorraine, Lann Jr., Ella, George, Alan, Douglas, and Keesler, grew into truly wonderful and loving human beings who, in turn, all married and brought beautiful, loving and wonderful children into this world. That is the legacy of Lann Clifton Tarrant ... and that remains his greatest gift to this world. Lann ... may our Lord be gracious to you ... and may He turn His face toward you, smile, and give you everlasting peace. Information provided by survivors.
