Donald Ray Witter Sr., 79, peacefully joined his first wife, Pauline Witter, in heaven on Nov. 17, 2014.
He is preceded in death by his parents Manson and Margaret Witter and brothers Richard and William Witter.
Don is survived by his children Sharon (Gary) Weisgerber, Tom (Sandy) Witter, Susan Jones, Linda Spires and Donald Witter Jr. He had 23 loving grandchildren and seven precious great-children. He is also survived by his only sister Beverly Gibson and sisters-in-law Ruth Witter and Joan Barrett.
Don was remarried and is survived by Barbara Smith Witter.
Don was a man of honor and filled with love for his family and country. He bravely served as a Marine in the Korean War.
After moving to Chino Valley, Arizona, in 1989, he became an active member of the American Legion Post 40. He proudly served a term as the Commander in Chief of the Post. He has never missed the opportunity
to honor those who passed. He took pride in helping to pay due respect to his fellow veterans.
Following a memorial, the Women of the Chino Valley Auxiliary will be hosting a luncheon for family and friends. Please join us from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at the American Legion Post 40, 650 E. Road South, Chino Valley.
