Roger Harold Smelser
In loving memory of Roger Harold Smelser, who died Dec. 15, 2014, in Show Low. He was 77. Roger was born near Lancaster, Ohio, to the late, Harold and Garnet Smelser.
Roger served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-59. He was a truck driver but was also known as a “jack of all trades.” Roger will be best remembered for his love of country music, ease of social conversation and the way he wheeled and dealed.
Roger is survived by his sons, Kurtiss, Kurbie and Kelley Smelser, and their families; their mother, Janet Joy Smelser (Mettie); and siblings, Norma, Don and Judy.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rogena Joy Stevens.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the Owens Livingston Mortuary White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St., in Show Low.
