David (Mike) Gardner, 70, passed away Dec. 5, 2014, at the home of his
daughter in Bountiful, Utah. He was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Winslow,
Ariz., to Edmund and Evelyn Gardner.
He graduated from Williams High School in 1962 and moved to Kingman to
work as a mechanic for Dunton Motors. He later went to work for Duval
Mine as a heavy equipment mechanic. He took a vacation trip to
Anchorage, Alaska, and stayed there. He worked as a mechanic at the
airport. Later he went to Valdise, Alaska, to work as a mechanic. He
returned to Kingman and worked at Valle Vista, then as a mechanic for
Mohave Union High School. He was later made shop foreman and continued
to work when schools unified. He retired in 2005 from Kingman Unified
School District No. 20.
Mike is survived by his daughters, Tracy Ririe (Dean) and their
children, Megan, Melody and James; Kristi Haslam (John) and their
children, Jennifer, Johnny, Dusty and Brady; Nadine Morton and her
daughter, Sloan; Marlys Thompson (Dean); brothers, Curtis Gardner of
Flagstaff and Cheri Davis of Kingman; eight grandchildren; five great-
grandchildren; and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather, brother,
sister and nephew.
