LAMON, Clarence D. (Tip)


Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on December 19, 2014 - Clarence D. (Tip) Lamon passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 13, 2014 after a short but valiant fight against cancer. Born on Feb. 26, 1938, in Bankhead, Ala., to Wilson and Jessie Lamon, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann; two sisters and two brothers; and three children, Barry, Larry and Beverly. Tip was in the Air Force for 10 years, where he achieved the rank of staff sergeant. He moved to Atlanta, Ga., in 1972 and owned and operated Tiptop Automobile Glass Company along with his wife for 17 years before retiring and moving to Kingman in 1994. He worked for Kingman Aero refueling planes for a number of years. Tip loved planes and flying and achieved his pilot's license and instrument rating in 1988. For the past seven years, Tip has worked for Martin Swanty Chrysler in whatever capacity he was needed. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and bicycles and going to Las Vegas from time to time to try his luck. He had a great enthusiasm and a zest for life that he incorporated into whatever he did. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and especially his wife. A memorial service will be held at a later date with time and place to be announced.
