7 Times Reprieved, Man Must Hang

Phoenix, Ariz., May 23--All preparations are completed for the execution of Francisco Rodriguez at the state prison at Florence. Rodriguez was sentenced to hang for the murder of his wife in Phoenix in 1911, but has been reprieved seven times. The pardon board declined to act on a letter from Judge Edward Kent, the trial judge, asking that the sentence be commuted to life imprisonment.
