She was born in St. George, Utah on April 24, 1944 to Adolia Lee and Mary Faris Jones. She was the second of five children and spent her childhood in St. George, Utah and Bunkerville, Nev. She grew up on a dairy farm where she learned a strong work ethic which stayed with her throughout her life. Judy graduated from Virgin Valley High School and then continued her education at the College of Southern Utah and obtained a bachelor's degree in elementary education. While attending college, she met her sweetheart Glen Scholl. They were married on September 10, 1965 in the St. George Temple and were blessed with seven children. Judy loved working with children.
