She was born in St. George, Utah on April 24, 1944 to Adolia Lee and Mary Faris Jones. She was the second of five children and spent her childhood in St. George, Utah and Bunkerville, Nev. She grew up on a dairy farm where she learned a strong work ethic which stayed with her throughout her life. Judy graduated from Virgin Valley High School and then continued her education at the College of Southern Utah and obtained a bachelor's degree in elementary education. While attending college, she met her sweetheart Glen Scholl. They were married on September 10, 1965 in the St. George Temple and were blessed with seven children. Judy loved working with children. While raising her own children, Judy worked as a childcare provider, taking additional children into her home. She also worked as an elementary school teacher for 20 years teaching both first and second grade. She had a great talent for teaching children how to read. Judy enjoyed sewing and quilting. She especially enjoyed quilting bed spreads for her children and baby blankets for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed preserving fruit, growing roses, and keeping a weed free yard. Judy retired from teaching to care for her aging parents in Ivins, Utah. She later moved to Thatcher, Ariz. to be near a daughter during her fight with cancer. She has also lived in Bullhead City and Globe, Ariz. During her retirement years, she enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, working as a substitute teacher, and riding her bicycle around the neighborhood. She stayed active and productive as long as her Alzheimer's permitted. Judy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions in the Primary, Relief Society, Sunday School, and Young Women's organizations. She will be remembered for her faith in her Savior, her love of family, her service, and kindness to others. She will also be remembered for her quick wit, her jokes, her sense of humor, her smile, and the twinkling in her eyes. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Glena Scholl Watson. Judy is survived by her husband, Glen Scholl of Payson, Utah; two daughters, Marilee Eatough of Redmond, Wash. and Laura Scholl of Orem, Utah; four sons, Douglas Scholl of Kingman, Ariz., Arlen Scholl of Cheyenne, Wyo., Wesley Scholl of Payson, Utah and Keith Scholl of Kearns, Utah; and by 24 grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Sharon Tueller of Reno, Nev., Ella Moss of Sparks, Nev. and Laura Eliason of Deseret, Utah; and one brother Ivan Jones of Sutter Creek, Calif. The family expresses their appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Mountain Air Assisted Living and A Plus Home Care and Hospice for their kind and gentle care as they assisted Judy with her health challenges.
