Justine Sears Filleman passed away peacefully December 27, 2014 at age 93 in Phoenix, AZ.
Justine was born on February 10, 1921 to Jewel Benton and Morrell M. Sears in Sherman, Texas. Justine married Jodie J. Filleman on April 10, 1943 in Roswell, NM, where Captain Filleman was stationed during WWII.
They were parents of Jo Anne (Harvey) Mickelson, Flagstaff, Jerry (Gwin) Filleman, Flagstaff, and John (Teresa) Filleman of Phoenix. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elizabeth Huxford and her husband of 65 years, Jodie.
She is survived by her 3 children, 8 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren, 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
Justine was dedicated to her family who were her pride and joy. Christmas was her favorite holiday and red was her color. Her hobbies included bowling with friends, ceramics, designing and decorating homes with her husband and serving as a volunteer at the Flagstaff Medical Center. She loved to go RVing and fishing with the Grand kids in the White Mountains of Eastern AZ. She loved to cook for her family and provided many birthday cakes and pies for special occasions that were held in her home. Justine had a great sense of humor and she will be missed by her family and her lunch buddies!
A funeral service is planned for January 3, 2015 at 1pm with visitation at noon in the Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Rt 66, Flagstaff, 86001. Burial will follow a graveside service in Citizens Cemetery, Veterans section, Flagstaff.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Olivia White Hospice Home, 752 N. Switzer Canyon Dr., Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
