NAGLE, Frank Carl

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/02/2014 Frank Carl Nagle’s strong spirit passed peacefully to God at 2 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at home with his loving wife of 27 years, Priscilla (Trout, Hood) Nagle, holding his hand with love and reassurance. He was born Dec. 13, 1942. Frank leaves behind a beautiful family of three sons and a daughter from his first marriage to the former Jane Connell, Carl Joseph, Paul Wallace, Anne Marie and Peter Andrew, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; seven stepchildren: four from his previous marriages, and wife Priscilla’s sons David Ian and Paul Maurice Hood and William T. Hudgins. All of them were included in his love and pride of his great family. Frank felt very fortunate to have such healthy, caring children with successful lives of their own. He also leaves behind his beloved brothers and sister, John, Bill and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Edgar and Sarah Susan (Campiglia) Nagle, and sister Pauline. Frank was a quiet, trustworthy man who exhibited a caring spirit to all his many friends. He and Priscilla moved from Los Angeles, Calif., to the countryside east of Snowflake, 26 years ago. They both loved their home — calling it their own little heaven — and spent a rich life living out what they called their “great adventure” in the countryside. He was the first Navajo County purchasing agent in several years, serving from 1989 to his retirement in 2005. In his youth, Frank served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1963, most of the time on the submarine USS Plunger, and also served on the USS Tawosa. After moving to this area, he helped start the local charitable organization Submarine Veterans Association and was their treasurer. He also served in the Snowflake Men’s Golf Club as the treasurer for the yearly charitable golf tournament. In addition — having been a grateful member of Alcoholic Anonymous for 35 years — he participated in helping others to stay clean and sober. Always trying to follow his motto of living “one day at a time” and “turn it all over to God,” Frank lived a life filled with many friends and satisfying accomplishments, always feeling blessed by God. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Silver Creek Mortuary in Taylor. In lieu of flowers, please give to the charity of your choice. Your loving prayers are a welcome contribution to the family, which thanks you all for the happiness and richness you have added to Frank’s life. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled arrangements.
