Nancy R. Ewart died Dec. 31, 2014, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. She was born June 27, 1933, in Schenectady, New York, the daughter of Russell G. and Emily (Cooper) Hughes. She was 81 years old.
Nancy and Lloyd were very fortunate to renew their friendship and grow together and share a beautiful life and love. They celebrated their 20th anniversary Oct. 2 of last year.
Nancy was active in the United Methodist Church, where she shared her lifetime love of music by singing in the Chancel Choir. She volunteered both for Prescott People Who Care and at YRMC. She loved to hike, camp and travel. She shared with Lloyd a love of photography, with her focus on flowers. She was gifted in crafts from quilting to crocheting; for many years she made gowns for stillborn babies at the hospital.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Lloyd; daughters Lynn (Kevin) Brooks of Prescott and Kris (Perry) Alm of Plover, Wisconsin; sons, Mike (Patti) Helvig of Tucson and Doug (Patty) of Gilbert; and sister Jane Adams of Tucson. Nancy loved all her family and large extended family from children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a true mother and exemplified the definition of motherhood.
Celebration of Nancy's life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley, Prescott. The family suggests memorials in Nancy's name to Prescott United Methodist Church, care of the music program.
