Harley Janeway went to be with the Lord Dec. 28, 2014, at Chandler Medical Center in Chandler. He was born June 18, 1947, to Norman Janeway and Flora Janeway.
Harley worked as a policeman back in the ‘60s. He also worked as an ambulance driver, served a term on the school board and he retired from FATCO Lumber mill in Cibecue.
Harley served a term as a councilman for the White Apache Tribe. Harley served and loved so many people, especially his family. He served his tribal members working with Silver Creek Mortuary and would set up electric lights at wakes all over the reservation. He was positive, uplifting and funny. Some of his nicknames were Punny, Tummy and Boots.
Harley is survived by Maggie Shaffer, Idabell Lavender, Audrey Ivins, Lincon Sanchez, Leatrice Janeway, Felecia Silvas, Joanne Armstrong, Suzie Tenijieth and Donnie Lane.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glendora Janeway.
A two-day wake will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, and Friday, Jan. 9, in Cibecue. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, in Cibecue.
Silver Creek Mortuary in Whiteriver handled arrangements.
