Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Monday, January 05, 2015 Edna Fay Lisk Knox passed away at Greenwood Counff Hospital in Emeka, Kans. on Dec. 22, 2014. She was born June 13, 1961 in the old Miami-Inspiration hospital on the hill in Miami, Ariz., daughter to Thomas Neil Lisk and Mattie Fay Griffay Lisk. Edna Fay attended school from kindergarten through high school in the Miami School District, graduating from Miami High, School in 1979. Edna was active in Gila County 4-H, raising everything from lambs to steers as well as riding and showing horses. She was 4-H rodeo queen in 1979. In 1978, she went to Oklahoma as a 4-H exchange student and fell in love with Oklahoma. After she graduated, she moved to Oklahoma, where she met her first husband, Dale Peterson. To this marriage, was born a daughter Lacey Fay, and a son, Lance William Peterson. Later she married Murray Knox and moved to Piedmont, Kans., where another son, Dalton Neil Knox, was born. She also had two stepdaughters, Kari and Kacie Knox and one stepson, Jeff Knox. Edna was a very good cook and she loved to bake. Everyone always knew there was good home cooked food at her house. She loved to bake and decorate cakes. She learned to make some very outstanding cakes. One of the most special ones was the one for her parents’ 25th wedding celebration in 1980. Edna always made friends easily and has left behind many friends in Arizona, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Edna enjoyed spending years raising her children and traveling to their Junior Rodeo events. She was a giver; she always tried to give back to people who needed help. She loved spending time with family, friends, and grandkids. Edna is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Neil Lisk; both sets of grandparents, Ed and Maud Lisk, and Doc and Esterleen Griffay. She is survived by her mother, Fay G. Lisk; brothers, Eddie (Diane), Mike (Corina) and Rusty (Kristie); sister, Fawn (Brian) Bouse; daughter, Lacey Lauer; sons, Lance Peterson and Dalton Knox, and her stepchildren Kari, Kacie and Jeff Knox; granddaughters, Lana, Tana; and grandson, Traden Lauer; as well as many nieces and nephews. Edna spent her final year with her best friend and companion, Jeff Bishop. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Warren of the Pleasanton Church of the Nazarene officiating for her many friends and family in Kansas. An Arizona memorial for Edna will be held Jan. 17, 2015 at 3 p.m. at River of Life Church in Central Heights, Globe, Ariz.
