The Arizona Republic, p. F7 May 24, 1991 William J. "Bill" Bates, 69, of Gila Bend, died May 22, 1991. He was born in Blythe, California, and was a manager for Redi-Mix Co. He was a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran. He was also a volunteer for the Gila Bend Fire Department for 33 years. Survivors include his wife, Helen. Buckey Funeral Home, 104 Baseline Road. Services Pioneer Cemetery, Gila Bend. 24 May 1991.
