Charles Casey, 87, passed away Jan. 2, from complications associated
with MRSA. He was born in Cleveland to Maynard and Marguerite Casey. He
is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pauline; daughter, Kathy Wright and
Tom Pedersen; son-in-law, Carl Orness and Karen Willman; sister, Mary
Smith and husband Chuck and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Orness;
brother, Norman Casey and sister, Marjorie Casey.
Chuck served in the Navy and then a 33-year career with Beckman
Instruments took him from Cleveland to Houston to Irvine, Calif. He and
his wife retired to Lake Havasu City in 1988.
When after 45 years of marriage, he started telling Pauline how to fold
clothes, she strongly suggested he find something to do, and that he
did. He was elected to city council, served on numerous boards and
committees, and became active in the Republican Party. He was a 25-year
member of the Elk’s Lodge.
In 1996, he was presented the Outstanding Public Official award by the
State of Arizona Parks and Recs. He was honored to be Citizen of the
Year in 1999. In 2007, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from
the Mohave County Republican Party.
Chuck’s family invites you to join them for a celebration of life at 11
a.m., Sunday at the Elk’s Lodge, 3532 McCulloch Blvd., Lake Havasu City
(casual attire).
The family suggests the Wounded Warriors Project or any disabled
veterans organization if anyone wishes to make donations in Chuck’s
honor.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home &
Crematory.
