STEIGER, Zoltan (Zolie)


Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on January 6, 2015 - Zoltan Steiger passed away on Dec. 4, 2014. Zolie, as he was called by friends, was a longtime resident of Dolan Springs and Kingman. Zolie fought during the Hungarian revolution in 1956 at the very young age of 16. He was one of the surviving revolutionaries up until he passed away. He was able to escape the revolution and came to America as a refugee. He lost his beloved country, family and childhood friends in defense of his countrymen. Zolie was blessed with a good family, home life and friends. He is survived by his wife, Lynne Steiger; his children, Roan Steiger Hoff, Michael, Rodney, Ray and his wife, Karla Graves, and Cj Steiger, along with his children from previous marriage, Kim Steiger-Kiefel and Zoltan Steiger Jr. Zolie was a fun-loving man who loved to crack jokes and make people laugh. He liked to be called "Zolie the Great." A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Kingman.
