Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow, Winslow, Arizona Catherine Della Brown May 07, 1913 - December 04, 2014 Catherine Della (Sayers) Brown, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend went peacefully to be with her Lord on December 4, 2014. She was 101 and 7 months and was born on May 7, 1913, in Kansas City, Kansas to Katie Metzger Sayers and Aerial Everett "Joe" Sayers. She was the oldest of five children. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 10:00 A. M. at the First Baptist Church located at 411 North Warren in Winslow, Arizona. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. at Greer's Mortuary of Winslow. Catherine was married to the love of her life Carl Emmett Brown on August 31, 1935. They were married for 55 years. She raised three daughters Eva Mae Nelson her husband J.G. of Winslow, Betty Jo Bozarth her husband Ted of Bakersfield, California and Carla Kay Beeson her husband Mike of Winslow and a daughter Helen Jo Brown, who preceded her in death at her birth. Catherine also has 8 Grandchildren, Cathie Neal, Diane Garner (Mont), Jolene Nelson (Rusty), Tom Bozarth, Steven Bozarth (Kelli), Jeannie Jacobs (John), Carleen Walton (Doug) and Michael Beeson. Catherine also has 21 great -grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl E. Brown, her daughter Helen Jo Brown, her great-grandson Hayden Michael Walton, her parents Katie Sayers and Aerial "Joe" Sayers, her sisters Eva Doll Cahill, Helen Blanche Brillhart, her brothers Walter Joe Sayers, Joe Sayers and her son-in-law J. G. Nelson. Catherine was a loving mother with a heart of gold with so much love and pride for her family friends, and for her Lord that she knew helped to guide her daily life. She loved her church activities, to sew, and work in her garden. She was a life long member of the First Baptist Church in Winslow. Catherine was beautiful inside and out, she was kind, gentle and generous. She will always continue to live through her family and will truly be missed.
