FUSSELMAN, Gloria Elizabeth

(Maiden Name: Green)

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Friday, January 09, 2015 Gloria Elizabeth Green Fusselman was born in Novinger, MO, March 21, 1929, and passed from this life into glorious eternity on January 1, 2015 at 9:56 PM at 85 years of age. She was the only daughter of Francis Ovie Green and Ophelia Mae Novinger Green. She married the lifelong love of her life, Richard Lavern Fusselman on April 6, 1947. They remained happily married for 68 years. Gloria grew up on her parent’s farm in northeast Missouri, and graduated from Novinger High School in 1946, where she played on the girls’ basketball team and excelled academically. Gloria and Richard lived in the state of Missouri for several years after marriage, but spent the majority of their married life in Flagstaff, AZ. They were members of Mt. View Baptist Church where Gloria taught Sunday school and loved to sing in the choir. She and Richard were also active in The Gideons. Gloria was a telephone operator at Southwest Bell in Kirksville, MO, and continued as an operator and receptionist at the US Forest Service in Flagstaff – a job she loved because she got to talk to people all day! Gloria and Richard became the proud parents of 5 children-4 girls and 1 boy- Marva Jo Hackler, Brenda Sue Clark, Joani Kinney (Tim), Mark (Rinnetta), and Lori Snyder (Shane). They eventually welcomed 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren into their family. Gloria was well known for her gift of hospitality. Through the years, her home was always open to a host of friends, old and new, sometimes including travelers stranded due to one of Flagstaff’s famous snow storms. She loved having youth groups from church in her home and interacting with the many friends of her children. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many. Gloria is survived by her husband, Richard, all of her children, and 12 grandchildren: Christian (Amy) Jensen, Becky (Luke) Atchison, Elisabeth (Bill) McRae, Jennifer (Jonathan) Jones, Elizabeth (Justin) Cook, Eric (Amber) Fusselman, Kaitlyn (Robert) Madden, Spencer (Bre) Fusselman, Kristyn Snyder, Alexandra (Paul) Biggs, Hilary Snyder, Keziah Clark; 10 great grandchildren, Martin, Abigail, James and Dawson Jensen, Joshua and Jessica Jones, Collin, Teran and Aliya McRae, Nicole Elizabeth Cook. She is also survived by 2 sisters in law; Shirley Green and Rama Green, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Donald Green, Ronald Green and Edward Green, sister in law Norma Green, granddaughter, Amy Kinney, and 2 great-granddaughters, Elissabeth McRae, and Grace Cook. Our hearts are broken, but we have comfort and assurance in the knowledge that she is no longer experiencing pain and suffering. She is happy and at peace in the presence of her Savior. Gloria was greatly loved and will be missed terribly. Rest in peace Mommy. We know we will see you again someday. The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Bethel; Baptist Church, 700 S. Eighth Street, Deming NM.
