Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, January 04, 2015 BRENDA SUE HLUSAK The Munds Park community lost a good friend when Brenda Hlusak passed away at 11:56pm on Tuesday, December 23rd. She joined the Lord after a heroic battle with ovarian and pancreatic cancers over the last six months. She touched the lives of many people and her loving influence was felt by everyone who had the good fortune to know her. She is survived by her husband Tomas A. Hlusak; her mother Judy Miller; brother David Miller; step children Pamela Finken and Michael Hlusak; grandchildren Kelsie, Brandon, Brooke and Blake and great grand child Bently. Brenda was born March 19, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio and was very active in the Northridge Assembly Of God Church where she served as Youth Minister, Church Secretary and was the first female Deacon at that church. In 1988 she married Tom Hlusak and they lived in southern California. In 1994 they moved to Phoenix and in 2006 moved to Munds Park. Her professional career centered around her love of photography. She was a portrait studio photographer and bridal photographer as well as holding several other positions all associated with photography. Prior to her illness she also worked in Flagstaff at Canyon Springs Luxury Apartments as their leasing agent. Her Christian leadership continued at Munds Park Community Church were she was a children's Sunday School teacher, served as the Vacation Bible School chairperson and worked in the church office as the pastor's Administrative Assistant. A Memorial Service celebrating Brenda's life will be held at Munds Park Community Church on January 10th beginning at 11:56am. Pastor Rex Sample will conduct the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be sent to the Youth Ministry at Munds Park Community Church.
