LEVERTON, William James (Jimmy)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/09/2015 William James “Jimmy” Leverton, 70, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, in Cottonwood. He was born May 11, 1944, in St. Johns, the son of George Vee and Dorothalene Jones Leverton. Jimmy honorably served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked in the warehousing and safety department for Kellogg Brown and Root. He worked construction most of his adult life living in Texas, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Haiti, U.S. Virgin Islands and Algeria. He is survived by his wife, Kay Leverton. He didn’t have the opportunity of having children but he left behind the “Ine Gang” — equine, bovine, canine and feline. He is also survived by his brothers, Boone (Sue) Hall of Springerville; Clay (Marty) Hall of San Tan Valley; sisters Jeanne (Mike) Udall, the mountain; Beverly (Danny) Ence of Buckeye; Nita (Wade) Morris of Mesa; Lisa Hall of St. Johns; and brother-in-law Kirk Morris of St. Johns. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Brenda Morris. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Johns Downtown Chapel, with visitation one hour prior.
