The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/09/2015 Armitta Marvine Holcomb Isaacson, 87, resident of St. Johns, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, in Show Low. She was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Robert Lee and Sabina Gibbons Holcomb. “Our” mother served in the community working the elections, with 4-H and at the county fair. She honorably held many church callings with dedication and efficiency, such as genealogy extraction work, secretary and in Relief Society. But mostly she served her family as a supportive and loving wife and cared for 10 children where she used her talents and gifts as a beautiful seamstress, artistic ability beautifying her home, and excellent cooking skills. “We loved her so much and will miss her greatly. She was the glue that held us together. She was a real angel and a lady in every sense of the word.” Armitta is survived by her sons, C. Norman Isaacson of Oregon, Leonard A. Isaacson of Idaho, John R. Isaacson of St. Johns and William “Bill” Isaacson of Tempe; daughters Andrea Nelson and Sandra Beckstead, both of Utah, and Deborah Barker and Terry Isaacson, both of St. Johns; and sisters Sabina Bigelow and Barbara Holcomb, both of Utah. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Johns Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior.
