The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, January 10, 2015 Robertta Norton, wife of Douglas R. Norton, of Chino Valley, Arizona, died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at the age of 88. She had been living in the Granite Gate Senior Community's Bridge to Rediscovery unit, since September of 2012. Robertta Jane Eliassen Andersen Norton was born on Dec. 16, 1926 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to George Monroe Eliassen and Ila Fern Starr Eliassen. She had one sister, Lois Jean Eliassen Thomson (1929-2002). In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Abbe Leigh Andersen of Los Angeles; and a son Peter Andersen of Yarnell, Arizona; and her stepdaughters, Debbie Norton Goodman of Provo, Utah, Vicki Norton Hulet of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Denise Norton Cummings of Alpine, Utah. Robertta is also survived by her grandchildren, Nathan Joseph Andersen of Phoenix, Eric Monroe Andersen of Prescott, Misty Price and Amber Andersen of Syracuse, Utah. She also leaves many great grandchildren. Robertta graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs in 1945. After a successful career as a professional model in Omaha, she relocated to Phoenix in 1965. Robertta was the Administrative Assistant to the Arizona State Auditor General for over 25 years. She retired in 1990 and married Douglas Norton in 1998. They settled in Chino Valley, Arizona. Burial will be in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
