Mr. Mahan's Funeral
(Communicated)
The funeral of Mr. Mahan, a highly respected and well known cattle man of the Mogollon mountains, took place at Central Verde, March 16th and was attended by his relatives and many friends from Beaver creek and the Verde. Nearly all the citizens of the two neighborhoods turned out to show their regards to his departure.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Windes at the house of Isaac Janes (Jones) and were listened to attentatively. 'I am a soldier of the cross?' was sung, at request of the departed, who before his departure gave hopeful evidence of a saving faith in the redeeming love of a risen and exhaled Savior.
Transcriber's note: Burial is at the Middle Verde Cemetery, Camp Verde, Ariz., but no headstone marking his exact place of burial has been found.
