Georgia Yvonne (Nichols) Waldbaum passed away peacefully in her home on
Nov. 18, 2014, surrounded by her children. She was 76 years old.
Georgia was born in Buhl, Idaho, on March 10, 1938. She was the second
of five children of George and Lorena Abbott.
From a young age Georgia loved music and excelled at playing the French
horn during her high school years. She was also excellent at sewing and
cooking for her large family. She always enjoyed listening to music and
dancing.
She was a homemaker until 1975 when she went to work at Silver Bell
Turquoise; eventually she worked retail sales at Chapman's Country
Corner, and Cofer's Country Corner until her retirement in 1988. She
enjoyed serving the public and people in general. She never had a cross
word for a customer and kept her composure when faced with rudeness. She
was remarkable when it came to handling people.
She had a dry sense of humor, a quick wit about her, and she loved to
laugh. Georgia was a beautiful soul, a good friend, and a giving woman.
She inspired her children to be independent and succeed at what they put
their mind to. She was the type of person who welcomed you with a smile
and looked forward to seeing you again. She is greatly missed by her
family and friends.
Georgia was preceded in death by her mother, Lorena Jeffs Abbott; her
father, George Leland Abbott; and her loving husband, Charles Roland
Waldbaum.
Georgia is survived by her seven children, Roger Nichols, Curtis (Peggy
Sue) Neilson, Lori (Roger) Magnuson, Barbara (Richard) White, Dixie
(Bud) Lemelin, Dan Nichols, and Colleen (Michael) Mason; her sister,
Ilene Neely; and brothers Ande (Terri), Charles (Cree) and Willard
Abbott. She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews
and extended family.
There will be a non-traditional celebration of Georgia's life for family
and friends in the fellowship hall of Kingman Christian Church at 3 p.m.
Jan. 17.
