DEMATTEO, Joseph

The Arizona Republic 4/9/2006. Joseph DeMatteo Jr., 62, passed away April 4, 2006 at home in Cave Creek, AZ. He is survived by his wife Carol (Biernacki) DeMatteo and his daughter Lisa Marie DeMatteo both of Cave Creek. Also surviving is his stepfather Charles Diglio and his sister Eva Savage both of North Branford, Connecticut. Joe was born April 17, 1943 in New Haven, Connecticut. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era, and follows in the footsteps of his father Joseph DeMatteo Sr. who gave his life for his country at the battle of Anzio during World War II. Also preceded in death by his mother Rose (Apuzzo) DeMatteo Diglio. Joe was a firefighter in New Haven, Connecticut and retired to Cave Creek in 1996. Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W.
