"TED" DODSON JR. <<< Raymond Dodson Jr., "Ted" to all who knew him, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. He was born on March 13, 1926 to Raymond T. Dodson Sr. and Beatrice Cramer in Whittier, Calif. Ted served as a Radioman in the US Navy during WWII and Korea; he rejoined the Naval Reserves in 1965 rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a Chevron Service station dealer in Van Nuys, Calif. from 1955 to 1985 and then worked as a civilian for the Navy. He was also very active in the Van Nuys Elks Lodge as a charter member in 1957 becoming exalted ruler in 1964. He retired from all of that in the early 1990's and moved to Arizona where he and his wife, Pat, built a home on the Colorado River. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Bill. Ted is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pat; daughter, Diana; two sons, Ray and Ron; brother, Lyle; eight grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed, especially by his family, but also by the many friends and neighbors he accumulated along the way. A private family service will be held in Arizona.
