MIGON, William J.


The Arizona Republic March 31, 2001 William J. Migon, 88, of Scottsdale AZ, passed away March 22, 2001. He was born and lived most of his life in Chicago, where he was an active member of the city's Polish community. He was a supervisor and employee activist during his 44 year career with the Postal Service, during which time he received the prestigious Brotherhood Award. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII. He is survived by his daughters, Iliana Volaric of Tallahassee, Florida, Antonette Schwartz of Scottsdale and their families. Additional survivors include sisters Evelyn Lunn of Chicago and Nancy Yoma of Santiago, Chile. Special gratitude is given to Kris and Richard Szmit of Agape Care Center of Scottsdale and the Scottsdale branch of Hospice of the Valley. Memorial mass was held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 11300 N. 64th St, Scottsdale. A memorial ceremony will also be held at sea by the U.S. Navy.
