MCHENRY, Paul

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, January 14, 2015 - Paul McHenry, 75, passed away Jan. 10, 2015 after an 18-month battle with cancer. Paul was born in Grayson, La. to Ezra and Ruby McHenry. In 1959, Paul decided to see the world; so he joined the Army and was assigned for duty at the Nike Missile Base in Roberts, Wis. He met his wife Connie in Stillwater, Minn. and married in 1960. There they made their home and raised three sons. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Connie McHenry (Roloff); sons, Michael (Cindy), Mark (Janine) and Matthew; grandchildren, J. P. and Maya; step- grandchildren Dustin, Amber and Kendal; and several step-great- grandchildren; sisters, Alma and Ruby; sister-in-law, Kay and husband Bill; brother-in-law, Charlie and several nephews. Paul loved his family and friends in Minnesota and Lake Havasu City. He especially enjoyed fishing with Denny, Jack, Elmer and numerous other friends and family. He always had tall tales to tell about the ones that got away to anyone who would listen. After his retirement from West Publishing, Paul enjoyed playing cards and taking walks. Paul was notorious for stopping and talking to anyone he met on his travels. One of Paul’s favorite pastimes was playing blackjack at the nearest casino and the only thing that would distract him on his way to the casino was a garage sale. Paul was an avid picker and found many treasures. A special thanks to all of our friends at Posada Del Rio in Lake Havasu City — especially Jack, Tom and Lake Havasu Hospice for all your help in Paul's final days. A celebration of Paul's life will be at 10 a.m., Thursday at the Posada Del Rio clubhouse, 1957 Mesquite Ave., and a future celebration will take place in April in Stillwater, Minn. Thoughts and condolences can be sent directly to Paul's family or through www.lakehavasumortuary.com. Arrangements are under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory.
