Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, January 15, 2015 - Sam S. Galia passed away at 91 years of age Jan. 6, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. He was born to Maria and Mike Galia in Detroit Jan. 12, 1923. Sam was wed to Betty on Jan. 15, 1943 in Detroit; they were married for 62 years. Sam was a retired machinist and lived in Oak Park, Mich. for more than 60 years. He enjoyed cars and coin collecting. He was involved with Eagles, VFW, and Moose. Sam is survived by his son, Michael A. Galia; daughters, June M. Harry, Kathaleen J. Pfeifer; sister, Antonina Smith; he had 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Galia; parents Maria and Mike Galia; three children, Mike, June, Kathy; sister, Nina Smith; grandchildren, Christopher, Casey Harry, Sam Galia and Michelle Galia.
