PHILLIPS, Robert (Bob)


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, January 15, 2015 - Robert Gale "Bob" Phillips, 88, passed away Nov. 30, 2014 due to illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1926 to the late Charles and Hattie Phillips of Long Beach, Calif. Bob grew up in California and served in the Army Air Corp. He later married (the late) Dolores Conner, with whom he raised six children: two from her previous marriage, three together and one via adoption. He spent the majority of his professional life in Orange County, Calif. as a real estate broker. On Nov. 30, 1992 he was remarried to JoAnne Garner. The couple relocated to Lake Havasu City, where he continued to maintain his broker's license and managed condominiums until his death. He enjoyed the outdoors and the many relationships he had with the “snowbirds.” He was an avid golfer and boater with a love of sports of all kinds. They have enjoyed a blended family of nine children, 17 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren. Through the years he maintained memberships in various clubs and community service organizations, including the American Legion, Arizona Elks Lodge and the Lake Havasu Yacht Club. Bob is survived by his wife, JoAnne; brother, George; children, Tim (Debbie) Conner, Rob (Barbara) Phillips, Lynette Baze, Lisa (David) Walker and Richard Phillips. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hattie Phillips; a sister, Delores and a brother William (Bill) Phillips. A memorial service is set for 11 a.m., Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 504 N. Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City. The memorial is open to the public.
