Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Friday, January 16, 2015 - Irene Ann Cooper, mother of four, passed away at 76 years of age, Jan. 8, 2015 in Phoenix. Irene was born and raised in San Francisco and graduated from Mission High School. At the age of 24, Irene fell in love and married her brother’s friend, Jerry Cooper, Nov. 10, 1962 at St. Paul’s Church in San Francisco. Irene and Jerry had two daughters before moving to Milpitas, Calif., where they had their two sons. In 1976, the Cooper family moved to Petaluma, Calif. to get away from city life and finish raising their children. Irene was a great mother to her family and found time to work with handicapped adults. She and Jerry retired to Lake Havasu City in 1998. Irene loved playing Bunko with the Bunko Babes and visiting her friends at Smith’s grocery store. She had a passion for cooking and entertaining and dabbled in gardening. Irene always had a joke or was able to find humor in any situation. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Cooper; daughters, Tina Williams and Lisa Critchett; sons, Joe and Tom Cooper; grandchildren, Raquel and Angela Williams, Teddy and Julia Critchett. She is also survived by her daughter-in-laws, son-in-laws and her siblings.
