William “Bill” Lawrence Paff passed away at his home surrounded by his
family in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 85. Bill was born in Beaver
Falls, Pa. to Kathleen Ritzer and John J. Paff. Bill has been reunited
in death with his wife Pauline of 33 years and son, Joseph Paff.
Bill was a United States Army veteran and he worked for the Department
of Navy for 35 years as well. He began his career with the Navy at China
Lake Naval Weapons Center in Ridgecrest, Calif. and was very
instrumental in the development of the sidewinder missile during the
Vietnam War. He and his family later relocated to Bangor Submarine Base
in Silverdale, Wash. where he concluded his career at the SWFPAC
facility as the administrative officer.
Bill has always been an avid sportsman; he was able to enjoy the birth
of waterskiing, boating, fishing of all types, hunting, crabbing and
camping. Bill introduced and shared his love of these sports with three
generations of his family and friends. His greatest joy in life was
spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, John Paff and daughter in-law Marsha Paff of
Lake Havasu City; his three brothers, Joseph Paff of Petrolia, Calif.,
Kenneth Paff of Detroit, Jack Paff of Cleveland, Tenn.; three sisters,
Kay Gurrino of Boise, Idaho, Sally Sneider of Boardman, Ohio, Nancy Bass
of Ridgecrest, Calif.; three grandchildren, Shannon Stowers, Randy Paff,
Bradley Paff; and two great-grandchildren, Aubree Stowers, Quinn Stowers
and their father Joshua Stowers of Lake Havasu City.
Bill was the strongest, most loving and caring father and grandfather
anyone could ask for, and will always be in our hearts and forever
missed!
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.
