Mary DeChard Bruyere, long-time resident of Lake Havasu City, passed
away Jan. 13, 2015 at the age of 85.
She was born in Potsdam, N.Y. to Alexander and Gladys DeChard, April 17,
1929. She spent her early years in Palmyra and Lily Dale, N.Y. and
graduated from Cassadaga Valley Central High School in 1948. She married
“Bud” Bruyere in 1957 and they lived in many states before finally

Mary was a spitfire. She was always the life of the party and never sat
still for a minute. She loved traveling, kept up with all the current
events, had an opinion on everything and was sharp as a tack right up
until the end. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Gladys DeChard;
her husband Bud Bruyere; her sister, Martha Tedesco; and a
granddaughter, Chantel Bruyere.
She is survived by her daughters, Terri Johnson of Lake Havasu City,
Tammy (Michael) Webb of Farmington, N.M.; one son, Steve Bruyere
(Luani), Cascade Montana; her brother, Ronald (Carol) DeChard of Lily
Dale, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Justin Thiele, Cody,
Charisse, Stephanie Bruyere; one great-grandchild, Elise; nieces and
nephews, David, Mike, Joan, Jason, Ronnie and her best friend, Pam
(Dick) Schneider.
She didn’t want wings but she deserves a halo. She will live on in our
hearts forever.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.
