Richard Patt Whalen, known to his family and friends as Patt, passed
away Jan. 6, 2015, after a long illness.
Born Oct. 4, 1959, Patt lived the majority of his life in Kingman.
He worked as a machinist at the Edison Power Plant from 1984 until it
closed in 2011 and continued to work until retirement in 2012.
Patt is remembered by family and friends as being a friendly, warm-
hearted man who always had a hug and a handshake ready for you. He was
an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and go camping.
Patt is survived by his two children, Satina Whalen of Midland, Texas,
and Skyler Whalen of Kingman, his father, Donald Joe Whalen of Kingman,
and three brothers, Cliff Whalen of Golden Valley, Mike Whalen of Texas,
and Donald Joe Whalen, Jr. of Kingman.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family has asked that donations be sent
to the Sons of American Legionnaires fund at the local American Legion.
